Ganzhou City, short for Gannan, is located in south of Jiangxi Province and lies along the upper reaches of Ganjiang River. It is the largest Administrative District in Jiangxi Province, subordinating 18 counties (cities, districts) and Ganzhou Economy & Technology Development Area. It is 39,400 km2 in area and has a population of 8,930,000. Over 90% of the population is Hakka people. Ganzhou has a good public security environment with honesty and friendly people.
General target of Ganzhou city planning and construction: up to 2015, the center area surface shall reach 100 km2 and the population shall be 1,000,000.
