On July 24, Ganjiangyuan - Ganzhou, China Fourth & Shicheng County First Eco-Tourism and Cultural Festival, hosted by Ganzhou Municipal Government and prepared by Shicheng County Party Committee, Shicheng County Government and Ganzhou Tourism Bureau, opened in Shicheng County - "The most beautiful lotus hometown in China". More than 600 people, including leaders from related departments of national, provincial and municipal levels, representatives of merchants, representatives of travel agents, reporters and others, attended the opening ceremony. Wang Ping, Deputy Party Chief and Mayor of Ganzhou, announced the opening of the festival.

Shicheng County is rich in tourism resources. It not only has famous titles of "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art", "Hometown of Chinese Lantern", "Hometown of Chinese Tobacco Leaf", and "Hometown of Chinese White Lotus", but also gets good reputations of "Chinese Best Eco-tourism Destination" and "Chinese College Students' Favorite Tourist Destination". The Eco-Tourism and Cultural Festival takes "Walk into Eco-Ganzhou, Travel in Source of Gan River, Meet in Lotus Hometown, Experience Hakka Culture" as the theme, aims to promote tourism resources of Shicheng County, enhance its cultural image, and further improve power of tourism influence of Ganzhou and Shicheng. Besides, the Eco-Tourism and Cultural Festival incorporates economic and trade activities. In the project signing ceremony held in the same day, 15 investment projects were signed in contracts (the contract funds totaled 1.03 billion yuan).
