Gan County Economic and Trade Commission recently obtained an official document that Jiangxi Provincial Industry and Information Commission officially grants Gan County Economic Development Zone the title of "Jiangxi Provincial Tungsten and Rare-earth Industrial Base". It is another important measure of Gan County to promote industrial cluster and drive regional economic development.

After years of construction, a group of tungsten and rare earth smelting and processing enterprises are gathered in Gan County, with 24 large tungsten and rare-earth enterprises at present. The main business income was 5.23 billion yuan in 2009, accounting for 18.4% of that of the tungsten and rare-earth industry in the province. An industrial chain of "from smelting (separate) to deep processing" is formed preliminarily. Hongjin Rare-earth Co., Ltd., Jiangwu Tungsten Alloy Co., Ltd., Shirui Minerals Co., Ltd., Yuanchi New Material Co., Ltd., Zhongrui New Material Co., Ltd. and other enterprises have a certain influence in the industry, and the products are in high technology level and have a certain degree of scientific and technological content.
